Local Car Drive Honors Fallen Hero.

June 19, 2016 drivers honored one of their own.  Officer Ronald Tarentino Jr. died in the line of duty, but the procession of vehicles saluting him were not driven by fellow officers.  You see Officer Tarentino was a car enthusiast as well.  He attended car events and loved working on his vehicle and spending time with fellow enthusiasts.

Tarentino owned a Mustang.  The parade was predominantly Mustangs, but also included a good deal of antiques, trucks, and a long line of motorcycles.  The entire procession took over 10 minutes and a respectful pace.  As it drove down the street, people on the side held flags as other officers blocked traffic to allow it through.  It was a humbling sight that brought tears to the eye.

The event was organized by Mass Tuning, but it was supported by all those that miss a fellow car guy.  Attendees donated a minimum $20 and all proceeds went to the officer’s memorial fund.  He left behind a wife and 3 children.
